For unto us a child is born

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Keep your tongue

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23

Its so hard to do this, when you get to talking, and involved with anger or so forth its easy to allow your anger or bitterness to come through. This verse means who ever watches over the things he says, gossiping backbiting, and all else will keep himself from trouble, or even lying because he will have to have an account for everything he says. Best thing to do is say nothing at all. Especially when you are talking about someone else. Go by what you know, if you do not know the person then say nothing, and if you do,, will it edify? Is it something that you would repeat to the person himself, if not,, say nothing. Prayerfully consider what conversations you are to involve yourself in. In your chaste conversations, in what you say, can hurt or bless someone. Remember even though the one you are talking about is not there, God knows. We are called to encourage and exhort each other to each other. Not to someone else. Wives, don’t talk about your husbands, if you have a problem with them bring it up in prayer, then speak to your husbands not to someone else. Only God has all the answers, its not found in your friends or family but in prayer, communication with the Father is all things revealed. Just something I have been learning and finding out it is so much easier to gossip then to pray about a matter especially if there is any misunderstanding in your heart or anger or bitterness,, check your heart before you speak, better yet, listen,, and wait, by then the conversation will have gone to another topic.

Rejoice and Weep

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Romans 12:15

I will refer back to 1Corinthians 13 This verse reminds me of it, Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; I want to rejoice with those who have a reason to rejoice, and be there to help those who are mourning for whatever reason. This is what love does.

Wait on the Lord

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. Lam.3:25

God is good to them that wait for Him to answer, for Him to deliver, and for those who daily seek His will in their every day lives. He is good to those who truly seek what His will is and truly seek the Kingdom of God. He gives wisdom when needed, understanding, truth in all things, He guards our hearts and our minds, He reveals so much to us, if we just wait upon Him. When we seek the Lord means that we want to know what He has to say, to spend time in His company, God made us to be in relationship with Him. Anyone who is in relationship with our Father, is bound to earnestly desire to grow close to Him, and to learn from Him. He truly rewards those who diligently seek Him. Prove Him on this!

Trust in Him

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:4,5

I am having a problem with this right now, it seems when fear and anger assault my heart its hard to trust the Lord, yet I must. I must trust Him to remove the fear and remove the anger, the key to this, is to be willing to do so. He will direct my path. Right now in the midst of tribulation I am seeking Him and trying to trust Him that He will take care of me. Another verse that I find useful in times like this is Matt. 11: 28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The Lord has in degrees healed the wounds of my soul, and by His perfect love has chased the fear from so many areas of my life. When I am afraid of someone it means that it is another area in which the Lord would like to heal. Oh to enter into His rest, and not be concerned what man can do to me, I would have that. I am seeking, and wanting His perfect love to fill me, to strengthen me, but its hard to love another who has no love for him or herself. Even harder when I don’t have understanding, although I know I must give this all to the Lord, today this moment and lean on Him. I hope you will too.

His Ways and your ways

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD Isaiah 55:8

Oh how I know this is truth, so many times I have prayed about this or that, and then realized that the Lord already knew what He was going to do, and I had not a clue about it. I am very glad that His thoughts are not like mine, mine are often full of petty ideas, and schemes that are so limited to what I view. His are so much more complete as He looks at more than a moment in time. His ways are full of mercy and love and my ways are often full of selfishness. I am glad He doesn’t do things the way I would do them, its comforting you know? Just take a moment and think on it, and you will see the vastness of His wisdom, the consideration He has for all, and the infinite love He holds in His thoughts that reflect in the way He does things. May I allow Him to truly be in charge of my life, for He knows so much more than I.

Plenteous in Mercy

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Psalms 103:8

I would want to be more like the Lord, slow to anger and full of mercy. Many times I am too quick to grow angry, and slow to show mercy to the one who angered me. As I look at the scriptures I see many times that the Lord could have been angry but wasn’t and I am quick to judge those of old and say I would never do that. Also I am glad that the Lord is full of mercy, because He never gave up on me. When I think on these things I realize that I should give the same mercy to others. God didn’t give up on me, He waited and was merciful to me. Every time I sin, the Lord is slow to grow angry and forgives me each time, or when I do or say the wrong thing, the Lord is gracious to me, by chastising me and showing me a better way. How much more of an example do I need, in the ways to deal with others, than Jesus.

Few Faithful men

Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? Proverbs 20:6

I would rather be faithful then boast of myself, for faithfulness is apparent to all, and not something that I have to talk about. Its something which is shown. I am called to be faithful with the little the Lord would have me faithful with. A faithful man is hard to find in this day and age I believe, because everything is so fast paced, faithfulness is hard to maintain. I know that the Lord would keep me faithful, I must be careful in giving my word, because I have to be faithful to carry it through. Areas in which one can be found to be faithful is prayer, raising children, work, helps, and these are just a few ways. I think I would rather watch and see the fruit of being faithful being produced in someone then just take their word on it.

Risen with all Power

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt. 28:18-20

He has risen. Now it is the time to have His Spirit manifested in us. To do as He has commanded.
