His Ways and your ways

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD Isaiah 55:8

Oh how I know this is truth, so many times I have prayed about this or that, and then realized that the Lord already knew what He was going to do, and I had not a clue about it. I am very glad that His thoughts are not like mine, mine are often full of petty ideas, and schemes that are so limited to what I view. His are so much more complete as He looks at more than a moment in time. His ways are full of mercy and love and my ways are often full of selfishness. I am glad He doesn’t do things the way I would do them, its comforting you know? Just take a moment and think on it, and you will see the vastness of His wisdom, the consideration He has for all, and the infinite love He holds in His thoughts that reflect in the way He does things. May I allow Him to truly be in charge of my life, for He knows so much more than I.

Plenteous in Mercy

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Psalms 103:8

I would want to be more like the Lord, slow to anger and full of mercy. Many times I am too quick to grow angry, and slow to show mercy to the one who angered me. As I look at the scriptures I see many times that the Lord could have been angry but wasn’t and I am quick to judge those of old and say I would never do that. Also I am glad that the Lord is full of mercy, because He never gave up on me. When I think on these things I realize that I should give the same mercy to others. God didn’t give up on me, He waited and was merciful to me. Every time I sin, the Lord is slow to grow angry and forgives me each time, or when I do or say the wrong thing, the Lord is gracious to me, by chastising me and showing me a better way. How much more of an example do I need, in the ways to deal with others, than Jesus.

Few Faithful men

Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? Proverbs 20:6

I would rather be faithful then boast of myself, for faithfulness is apparent to all, and not something that I have to talk about. Its something which is shown. I am called to be faithful with the little the Lord would have me faithful with. A faithful man is hard to find in this day and age I believe, because everything is so fast paced, faithfulness is hard to maintain. I know that the Lord would keep me faithful, I must be careful in giving my word, because I have to be faithful to carry it through. Areas in which one can be found to be faithful is prayer, raising children, work, helps, and these are just a few ways. I think I would rather watch and see the fruit of being faithful being produced in someone then just take their word on it.

Risen with all Power

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt. 28:18-20

He has risen. Now it is the time to have His Spirit manifested in us. To do as He has commanded.

False prophets deceive

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Matt. 24:11

I believe that without searching the Word of God, that many will be deceived by false prophets. The key is to search the scripture, (test the spirit). This means do not go with a “gut feeling” or witness, but to go with what the scriptures have to say. All prophetic words, will line up with the Word of God because that is His truth for today, in which to measure the righteousness of the word given. My advice to myself is to be very careful and allow the Lord to show me in His Word, what is truth and what is false. Lord show me what is true and what is not.

Finished His Work

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. John 17:4

Jesus spoke this in the garden, the work which God gave Jesus to do was finished in that God was glorified on the earth that now people knew who God was and that Jesus established His Kingdom on earth. The work in which Jesus was to do was finished, and His death on the cross was not work that Jesus was to do, but was something that God had to finish in order that we will have eternal life. Through Christ’s death and resurrection God was finishing the work that He would have done by sacrificing His Son as a sin offering for us once and for all. We believe in Christ through the word of the Apostles we have atonement because of God’s Work on the cross. So all who believe in Jesus also believe that God is and always has been, thus God is made real to us through His Son, and our sins are taken away because of that belief in Jesus Christ and God the Father.

Do to you, so to them

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Matt. 7:12

All things, that I would have men do to me, I am to do to them and for them. So I am to treat others as I would want to be treated. That means love them, treat them with fairness, speak truth to them. Its something that seems to be hard to do at times, and takes a bit for me to do. If I love God with all my heart, mind, soul and strength, then I am not the one who is attempting to treat others the way I want to be treated. The love of God is in me and it is moving me, to do and treat and act toward others the way I would have it. I love myself, because He loves me, and I know that God loves others too. This verse says all things, which means to me, that no matter what another does to me, I am to treat him or her the way I would want to be treated. Maybe I won’t see the results, but I will be obedient, and following the leading of the Holy Spirit which fills my heart with love and compassion for them.
